How to create a New User Defined Calendar in MS Project 2010

The Default Calendar in Microsoft Project is the Standard 5 Day Week Calendar, and we have the Two other calenders in the Global.MPT which are "24 Hrs" and "Night Shift".

You can change the Working Timings to change the calendar.Here is the process for this

Step 1: 

Open the Microsoft Project 2010 and go to "Project" in the menu bar and then click on "Change Work Time"

Step 2:

Then in the Wizard "Change Work Time". Click on the "Create a New Calendar"


Step 3 : 

In the Wizard, Type the Desired Calendar name, here i am typing as the "6 Days Calendar". and then Click "OK"


Step 4:

Then in the Wizard, Select the "Work Weeks" at the bottom and click on "Details" at the right side of the wizard.


Step 5:

Now here, Observe that all the 5 working days will be having the working timings as 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. So select the 6th day Sat'day and Select "Set Day(s) to these Specific Working times:" on the right side and specify the timings at the bottom of the window.




Step 6:

Now, the Work Timings has been changed with a new calendar. So, to assign the newly created calendar to the Project that we are working now.Go to Project>>Project Information>>


and then select the Calendar in the Drop Down List. You will be able to view the newly created calendar "6 days Calendar". Select the same.
